Waiting in Communion

📖 Devotional from Days of Heaven

"Wait patiently for the LORD; be strong and courageous. Wait patiently for the LORD!"Psalm 27:14 BSB

How often the Word exhorts us to wait on the Lord, yet how easily we rush ahead! To wait is not passive idleness but the quiet expectation of faith, resting in the certainty that God has already provided. It is remaining in His presence, receiving from Him rather than striving in our own strength.

Many pray for what has already been given, failing to see that His provision is at hand. When we wait on Him in confident trust, we exchange our weariness for His sustaining life. This is the way of abiding—soaring on wings like eagles, running without fatigue, walking without fainting. His life is not given in a single moment but unfolds as we remain in communion with Him, absorbing His presence like the roots of a tree drawing from a deep, unseen well.

The secret of peace, fullness, and holy purpose lies in this: waiting on the Lord in unwavering trust. Not seeking what we already possess, but receiving what is already ours.

Prayer of Confidence

Father, we wait in the stillness of Your presence, not as beggars, but as children receiving what You have already given. Your life sustains us, Your strength carries us, and Your love fills us beyond measure. We rest in the certainty that You work in and through us, renewing us as we abide in You. Thank You for the fullness of Christ within, for the grace that is always sufficient, and for the joy of waiting in communion with You. Amen.

Final Thought: Waiting on the Lord is not about passivity but expectation—receiving from Him moment by moment, knowing He has already provided all that we need in Christ.
