Knowing Him
Knowing Christ is not a destination—it’s a shared journey of moment-by-moment fellowship.
Devotion for March 22nd – Immeasurably More
📖 “I want to know Christ — yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death.” – Philippians 3:10
Today’s devotional reminds us that knowing Christ isn’t about accumulating knowledge about Him; it’s about sharing life with Him. Paul wasn’t seeking prestige or recognition—he was longing for intimacy. True friendship with Jesus comes not through occasional contact but through moment-by-moment fellowship. This is a relationship formed in the crucible of shared experience.
As we live in union with Christ, we discover the power of His resurrection—not merely as a future hope, but as present vitality that acts in and through us. We also find ourselves sharing in His sufferings—not in despair, but in a deep compassion that flows from Him toward others. And we become like Him in His death—freed from the tyranny of self-concern and released to be truly available for God’s purposes.
All of this, Paul insists, is not the result of effort but the natural outflow of a life lived in knowing Jesus personally.
Journal Entry — Written in the Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture
You were never called to merely know about Me. I have drawn you into something infinitely more beautiful—knowing Me. This knowing is not a subject to study; it is a Person to abide with. I have not hidden Myself from you. I live in you. I walk with you. And as you turn your attention toward Me throughout the day, you begin to see more clearly: I am your life.
The power you long for is already within you—the power of My resurrection, ever alive, ever available. I do not ask you to strive for it, but to rest in it. It is My life doing what only I can do through you. When difficulties come, know that your sufferings are never wasted. I am allowing you to experience what I feel—for the hurting, the lost, the broken. This is not punishment. It is compassion being birthed through your union with Me.
And in death—yes, even there—you are not alone. You have died with Me, and now the old patterns of self-protection, self-promotion, and self-indulgence no longer define you. You are free. Free to be Mine. Free to love. Free to live uncluttered by the noise of this world. Every moment you trust Me, I express My life through you. This is knowing Me. This is the life you were born again to live.
(Philippians 3:10; Romans 6:5-11; Galatians 2:20; 2 Corinthians 4:10-12)
Prayer of Trust
Lord Jesus, You are not far away or hard to find. You are in me. You are my life. Thank You for making Yourself known not just through Scripture, but through every shared moment together. I trust You to live Your resurrection power through me today. I rest in Your compassion, knowing You will love others through me. And I rejoice in the freedom of dying with You, because it means I no longer have to live for myself. You are my portion. You are my purpose. I want to know You more deeply in every moment—because in knowing You, I finally know what it means to truly live.
