His Heart Beating in Mine
“Love flows not from effort, but from the life already within.”
Scripture: 1 John 2:27 (BSB)
A.B. Simpson draws our hearts today to the inner reality of Christ’s anointing within us—the indwelling presence of God’s love, which does not fade or fluctuate. His Spirit doesn’t come and go; He remains, and with Him comes the gentle teaching of love itself. This isn’t a call to discard instruction, but to recognize that all true understanding flows from the Spirit’s life within. And that life? It is love.
Simpson points to the simplicity that confounds our striving: to love as Jesus loves. Love doesn’t need to be forced—it flows naturally when we are surrendered to the heart of Christ. When we let His heart beat in us, it becomes easy to forgive, easy to trust, easy to walk with Him. Love doesn’t only transform our relationships—it renews even our physical vitality. A soul alive in the embrace of divine love radiates healing from within.
Simpson suggests that the “secret” to deeper life isn’t found in effort, knowledge, or spiritual gymnastics—but in yielding to the love that is already ours. The deeper life is the anointed life, and that life is love.

You have My heart—do you know that? I have not given you a portion or a glimpse, but the fullness of Christ dwells in you. The anointing abides, not as a visitor but as your ever-present companion. You do not walk as one unloved, nor do you speak as one unaware of the Source within. I remain. I remind. I renew.
Rooted in love, you rise each day not to chase but to receive. The vine does not strain to bear fruit, nor does the sun plead to shine. So you abide—not as a discipline, but as a delight. My love flows not because you earn it, but because you are Mine.
To see with His eyes—this is love. To forgive with His mercy—this is the heart you carry. Let His compassion fill your thoughts toward those who stumble. Let His patience temper your impulses. The unlovely do not stay unlovely when seen through the hope of His redeeming work. I show you who they can become, just as I have shown you who you are in Christ.
And yes, even your body responds to My presence. When peace reigns in your soul, the body sings in harmony. When fear dissolves in perfect love, your frame stands lighter. The world cannot explain this joy, but you know its Source.
Stay with Me, beloved. Remain in what is already yours. There is no striving here—only resting in love that flows without end.

Prayer
Father, thank You for placing Your love within me as the very life I now live. I trust You for every relationship, every conversation, every response. Let Your heart toward others be the lens through which I see them. I rejoice that I don’t have to manufacture love—I only need to yield to what’s already mine in Christ.
You have made it simple: to remain in Your love, to respond from Your love, and to rest in the flow of Your life. I walk today in that confidence. You are enough—for me, and for all You call me to love.
Amen.
