“O our God . . . we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon Thee.” (2 Chron. 20:12)
It is a humbling thing to come to the end of ourselves—to admit that in our own strength, we are powerless. Yet, this admission is not defeat; it is the doorway to triumph. Too many believers linger in a state of spiritual infancy, seeing only their forgiveness in Christ but never stepping into the fullness of their life in Him. They struggle, striving against the enemy, unaware that victory has already been secured.
Paul declares, “God . . . hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ” (Eph. 1:3). These are not distant promises; they are present realities. Our position is settled—we are crucified, buried, raised, and seated with Christ. If we see ourselves only in our present struggles, we will live as if we are defeated. But when we set our eyes on where God has placed us, we walk in the victory that is already ours.
Imagine a soldier who, though fully armed, refuses to take his place on the high ground and instead fights from the valley, overwhelmed by the enemy on all sides. The battle was never meant to be fought from below. He has been given the high ground, a place of safety, strength, and clear vision. So it is with us—we are enthroned with Christ, and from that place, we stand, not in striving, but in the authority of our risen Lord.
Victory is not achieved by effort; it is received by faith. “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith” (1 John 5:4). Faith lays hold of what is already true. We are not fighting for victory; we are standing in the victory that is already won.
Prayer of Confidence
Father, our eyes are upon You. We stand where You have placed us, seated with Christ in heavenly places, victorious in Him. We reject the illusion of defeat and embrace the reality of triumph, for You have already given us all that is needed. Thank You that we overcome—not by might, not by struggle, but by resting in the finished work of our Lord Jesus Christ. In Him, we are more than conquerors. Amen.
Final Thought
Where you stand determines how you fight. Set your eyes where God has placed you—in Christ, above the battle, reigning with Him. Victory is not a distant hope; it is a present reality. Stand in it.
