God Enlightening Us about Our Spiritual Resources
When the curtain of our understanding is drawn back, the light of God’s provision floods our hearts.
In today’s devotional, Bob Hoekstra points to the staggering truth that every spiritual blessing we could ever need has already been given to us—in Christ. Yet, many believers live unaware of these riches. That’s why Paul prays not that we would receive more, but that the eyes of our hearts would be enlightened to see what is already ours. The emphasis is not on asking for new blessings, but on spiritual sight—illumination by the Holy Spirit—to perceive what God has already poured out.
This unveiling doesn’t come through intellectual effort or religious striving. Rather, it is by grace—God’s loving initiation toward the humble—and accessed through faith. Scripture tells us that no eye has seen and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him. But the Spirit reveals these things to us when we come to Him like children—teachable, trusting, dependent.
The pattern is unmistakable: grace and faith. God gives grace to the humble, and faith lays hold of grace. As we quietly rest in the presence of God and submit our hearts to His Word, the Spirit unveils these hidden treasures so they become not only known but lived.
Personalized Journal Entry in the Holy Spirit’s Voice Through Scripture
You have already been blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. There is no lack in you because you are in Me, and I am in you. All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Christ, and you have access to them—not by effort, but by revelation.
I have opened your eyes so that you might know the hope to which I have called you, the riches of My glorious inheritance in the saints, and the immeasurable greatness of My power toward you who believe. These truths do not need to be manufactured; they are waiting to be seen, like sunlight streaming through a window when the curtain is pulled back.
You could not discover these things on your own. Eye has not seen, nor has ear heard, nor has it entered your heart. But I have revealed them to you by My Spirit, who searches all things—even the deep things of God. My Spirit is your indwelling Counselor, and He takes what is Mine and makes it known to you.
Come to Me like a child. Rest your confidence not in your insight but in My Word. As you yield your thoughts and affections to Me, I will open your understanding so that Scripture no longer lies dormant but becomes living and active—penetrating your heart with joy and awakening faith.
Remember, faith comes by hearing, and hearing through My Word. My voice is there, in the pages you read and in the quiet moments of fellowship. The Spirit within you delights to reveal My grace—not to the self-assured, but to those who posture themselves low in trust.
I am showing you great and hidden things you could not have known unless I revealed them. This is My joy—to pour light into your heart until you walk by faith, not by sight, knowing with certainty what is already yours in Me.

Prayer of Trust and Gratitude
Father, how kind You are to not leave me in ignorance but to delight in revealing what You’ve already given me in Christ. I rest in the joy that there is nothing lacking in me because You have already filled me with the fullness of Christ. Thank You for gently drawing back the veil and letting me see through the eyes of faith. I trust that Your Spirit within me will continue to awaken my understanding—not by striving, but by quiet yielding. Thank You for every spiritual blessing that is already mine. I stand in awe, not as one trying to earn favor, but as one learning to see what grace has already provided.
