A Heart Aligned to Intercede
When the heart is quieted in worship, the light of Christ moves freely in prayer for others.

In today’s devotional, Chambers confronts the condition of a believer’s heart. He draws a line between heartlessness and heartiness, especially in how we relate to others through intercession. When our lives are overwhelmed by burdens—whether from home, work, or the world—we may begin to treat people as inconveniences, our words hollow, our actions lacking the warmth of Christ. This heartlessness is a signal that we’ve drifted from the posture of worship and prayer.
Chambers reminds us that Christ and the Spirit are actively interceding on our behalf. As ones joined to Christ, we’re invited into that same work—not from duty, but from the overflow of union. Yet instead, we often run ahead in our eagerness to do “God’s work” without pausing to let Him be the one working through us. The result? We carry burdens we were never meant to carry and miss the quiet miracle of God expressing His love through us—especially through intercessory prayer.
This devotional is an invitation back to that “living relationship” with God, where burdens are not crushing, but are lifted into intercession. When we rest in worshipful communion with Him, our hearts are softened, our actions become intentional, and intercession flows in step with His will.
Personalized Journal Entry (Holy Spirit’s Voice Through Scripture)
You are not alone in these moments of weight and weariness. I am praying for you. I search your heart and intercede according to the will of the Father. Jesus, seated at His right hand, never stops speaking for you, declaring your righteousness, affirming your union with Him. You are never without representation in the throne room of grace.
Let your soul return to worship, not as a duty, but as the meeting place where love re-centers you. Let me stir your heart again—not just to rest from striving, but to carry the burdens of others to the One who bore all. You are seated with Christ in heavenly places. From this position of peace, you intercede not with groanings of despair, but with groanings too deep for words, moved by My life within you.
When you meet people you cannot naturally love, when you are pressed beyond your capacity, I am still in you, loving through you. I shed the love of God abroad in your heart. You are not called to fix anyone, only to yield to Me. I draw your gaze upward so that you can see others through the lens of My affection.
You are never meant to carry what only I can bear. Bring every thought, every burden, into My presence. And I will guard your heart and mind with peace. From this abiding place, intercede. This is not your work—it is Mine, in you.

Prayer
Father, thank You for placing me in Christ and for the ongoing intercession of the Spirit and the Son. I rejoice that I am never without Your presence, and never meant to carry burdens apart from You. I trust You to express Your love through me today—in how I respond to people, how I think about their needs, and how I bring them before You in prayer. You’ve already given me all that I need to live in this union. I rest in it now, knowing You are praying through me with purpose, precision, and love. What a joy it is to intercede in step with You.
