Ezekiel 43

"The glory of the Lord fills the temple, and the light of His presence fills our hearts."

In Ezekiel 43, a breathtaking and hope-filled vision unfolds before us. Ezekiel is led to the east gate where he beholds once again the glory of the Lord—the same overwhelming splendor he witnessed earlier by the Kebar River. This radiant glory enters the temple through the east gate, signaling that true worship will be restored among God's people. The Spirit then carries Ezekiel to the inner court where he sees the temple filled with the magnificent presence of the Lord.

God declares through Ezekiel that He will dwell among His people forever, but He also issues a solemn charge: the people must leave behind their defiling practices and live in holiness before His presence. This new temple stands as a visual reminder of God's holiness and the calling of His people to reflect His character.

Ezekiel is instructed to meticulously record the design and laws of the temple—not merely for construction plans, but to stir conviction in the hearts of the people. God's perfection is meant to awaken shame over sin and to inspire a pursuit of holiness. Every detail, down to the altar and its seven-day dedication ceremony, points beyond itself to something greater: the fulfillment in Christ, the true Temple. Jesus Christ, in His very body, becomes the meeting place between God and humanity, fulfilling the vision Ezekiel saw so long ago.

Personalized Journal Entry (Written in the Voice of the Holy Spirit)

My beloved one, see how My glory fills the temple. Just as the eastern sky breaks forth with the morning light, so My presence enters and fills all who have been made new in Christ. No longer do you dwell in shadows or in the lingering gloom of past sins; you have become My sacred dwelling place. You are not a vessel to be occasionally visited, but a temple that I now inhabit fully and eternally.

I call you to remember that holiness is not your striving—it is My presence. As you rest in Me, My holiness radiates through you like warmth through sunlit windows. Lay aside the idols of performance and fear; they have no place within the sanctuary I have made in you. Your heart is now My mountain, consecrated and holy, not because of your efforts, but because of My indwelling.

Let your life reflect the beauty of the altar—where sacrifice once stood as a symbol, now perfect communion exists. Christ’s once-for-all offering has purified you, not with the blood of bulls and goats, but by the eternal Spirit offering Himself without blemish to God. Therefore, approach Me freely and boldly. My voice is no longer a distant thunder but a tender whisper within you, guiding you into the life that is truly life.

Real Life Analogy

Imagine entering a home that’s just been deeply cleaned—not superficially tidied, but scrubbed from floorboards to ceiling. When you walk through the door, you instinctively breathe easier, sensing the freshness in the air and the brightness in every corner. You don't add more cleaning to such a house; you simply enjoy living in it, respecting the beauty already present.

In much the same way, when Christ cleanses and indwells us, our role is not to frantically "clean" ourselves to earn His favor but to walk in the beauty He has already created within us. Just as we would naturally keep a clean home beautiful out of appreciation, we live in a manner worthy of the holiness that now fills our hearts—not out of fear, but out of joy and reverence.

Prayer

Father, I rejoice tonight in the wonder of Your dwelling within me. Your glory no longer hovers at a distance, but fills the temple of my heart because of Christ. I trust that Your life within me is sufficient to lead me into holy living—not by my willpower, but by Your faithful presence. Thank You that I am no longer a distant observer but a beloved participant in Your life. Let every step I take tomorrow reflect the beauty of Your indwelling Spirit, not by effort but by abiding. I rest in Your presence tonight with great gratitude and quiet expectation.

Amen.
