Days of Heaven on Earth
The righteous are as bold as a lion—not because they are fearless, but because Christ is their courage.
Today’s entry in Days of Heaven on Earth exhorts us to live courageously by faith, not shrinking back in fear. Simpson contrasts two figures—Jeremiah and King Zedekiah. Jeremiah, though surrounded by danger, remained courageous and obedient. Zedekiah, however, was driven by fear, hesitant to obey God, and ended up devastated. The message is clear: fear makes us vulnerable, but faith-filled boldness under God’s direction protects and even preserves us.
Simpson emphasizes that standing firm in obedience often shortens the trial. Abraham’s great test came once, and when passed, was not repeated. So too, trials don’t have to linger when we walk uprightly, anchored in Christ. Satan, the accuser, feeds on fear. But if we face him in bold faith—refusing to cower—his grip is broken.
The call today is not simply to be brave in our own strength, but to abide in the One who is our courage, to let Him express His steadfast life through us. Let Him always find us true.
Personalized Journal Entry in the Holy Spirit’s Voice Through Scripture
You are not alone in this moment—I am in you, and I am your courage. The faith by which you stand is not of your own making; it is My gift, alive and active within you. You have not received a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. Because I live in you, the righteous are as bold as a lion, not shrinking back but pressing forward in confidence.
You are more than a conqueror through Christ who loves you. When you resist the enemy, I cause him to flee. Do not fear what man can do; I am your shield and your exceedingly great reward. You stand firm not by effort, but by resting in the finished work of Christ. The same power that raised Him from the dead is at work in you, enabling you to endure and overcome.
When the trial comes, I will be your steadfastness. You do not face the test alone. I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. I will cause you to walk in obedience, and you will not fall. I will complete what I began in you. I will make your feet like deer’s feet, steady on high places. And when the winds howl and darkness presses in, remember—I am with you. I am for you. I am in you. Be strong and courageous, for I am the Lord your God.

Prayer in My Voice
Father, thank You that I don’t have to muster up bravery today. Christ in me is already brave. I rest in that. When the pressure builds or fear knocks at the door, I’ll stand—not in defiance, but in dependence. You have made me strong in You, and I trust You to express that strength through me moment by moment. Let the enemy find no trembling soul in me, only the unshakable presence of Your indwelling Spirit. And in every challenge that comes, may You find me faithful and true—not by my efforts, but because You are my faithfulness.
