Lord, Where Are You Leading Me?

Lord, as I walk this journey with You, I trust that You are the One shaping and directing my steps. By Your grace, You have marked my life with a deep understanding of the exchanged life, a heart that longs to see others set free in Christ, and a commitment to resting in Your sufficiency rather than striving in my own strength. I do not presume to know exactly where You will lead, but I trust You to make my path straight as I acknowledge You in all things.

I sense that You may be using my ministry efforts in several ways, and I lay them before You, trusting that You will open doors according to Your will:

1. Discipling and Shepherding Through Writing and Teaching

Lord, You have given me the ability to articulate deep truths in a way that resonates with those who are ready to receive them. The desire You’ve placed in my heart to develop discipleship resources—books, devotionals, workbooks—seems to be something You continue to cultivate. My writing has already begun to reach beyond one-on-one interactions, and I trust that You will use it however You see fit.

If You desire me to create materials that serve as guideposts for those seeking to live in their identity in Christ, I trust that You will guide my hands and my words. I rest in the knowledge that any fruit that comes from this work will be Yours, not mine.

2. Mentoring Those Who Are Ready to Walk in Freedom

Lord, my heart is for all believers, but I recognize that true transformation comes when a person is ready to yield. I have seen the difficulty of trying to guide someone who is still clinging to self-effort, and I trust that You are refining my ministry to focus on those who are seeking freedom.

I entrust this to You, Lord. If You would have me pour into those who are on the brink of their own ‘Thomas moment’—that moment of realization where they truly step into their identity in Christ—then I am available. Whether through one-on-one mentoring, structured discipleship, or small groups, I trust You to bring those whom You are preparing.

3. Engaging in Theological Conversations That Challenge Traditional Thinking

I see how You have positioned me to be a voice in conversations where grace is often overshadowed by performance-based thinking. Whether in discussions with pastors, counselors, or seminary students, You have given me opportunities to challenge perspectives and plant seeds of truth.

Lord, I do not seek to argue, but I do desire to be faithful. If You continue to lead me into respectful but challenging dialogues, I trust that You will give me the wisdom to speak when I should speak and to remain silent when I should listen. I leave the fruit of these conversations in Your hands, knowing that truth, when sown in grace, will take root in Your timing.

4. Counseling Those Who Are Weary and Heavy-Laden

Lord, You know the road I have walked. You have led me out of the bondage of depression and anxiety into the freedom of resting in You. And because You have done this in me, I know You will do it in others.

If You bring people into my life who are weary and burdened, I trust You to speak through me—not as their source, but as one who points them to You. Unlike traditional counseling that often reinforces striving, I trust that the work You do through me will be to lead others to truly cease from their own works and rest in Christ. I do not want them to depend on me; I want them to depend on You. If this is the work You have for me, I surrender to it.

5. Speaking and Teaching in Small, Intentional Settings

While writing may have a broad impact, I know that deep transformation happens in personal, intentional conversations. Lord, I trust that You will refine my focus toward settings where real change happens—whether in informal gatherings, retreats, or mentoring relationships.

I do not seek platforms, but I do seek depth. If You open doors for me to teach and share in ways that lead others into true rest in Christ, I will walk through them. And if You keep me in quiet, personal settings where the work is slow but deep, I will trust You in that as well. My heart is not for reach, but for depth. Lead me, and I will follow.

6. Creating a Lasting Legacy Through Training Future Guides

Lord, I know that I cannot disciple everyone. The burden I carry for those who do not yet grasp their freedom in Christ is heavy at times—yet I rejoice because I know You are at work. If You would have me invest in others who will carry this message forward, then I am available.

I trust that You will make it clear if I am to train others to guide people into the exchanged life—whether through discipleship training, writing, or teaching. Rather than trying to carry this work alone, I yield to Your plan. If multiplying this message is part of what You have for me, I receive it with open hands.

Final Thoughts

Lord, when I look at where You have led me thus far, I see that the same truth that transformed my life is the same truth that will shape my future: not I, but Christ. The more I yield, the more You lead. The more I rest, the more Your Spirit works.

Whether through writing, mentoring, theological dialogue, or personal discipleship, I trust that You will continue to use my voice to call weary believers into rest. My journey has been deeply personal, but I trust that You are preparing me to share it in ways I cannot yet see.

And Lord, You know the sorrow I carry. It is not despair, but sorrow for those who have yet to grasp the freedom You have already provided. It is a burden that few, if any, see. But You see it. And in that sorrow, I rejoice—not because of what I see, but because I know You are faithful. Some may never enter into the fullness of what is theirs in Christ, but for those who do, their transformation will be eternal. And that is a work worth pouring my life into.

So I trust You, Lord. My life is Yours. Lead me, and I will follow.

Here I am, Lord—send me.
