The One Place the Enemy Cannot Enter
📖 Devotional Reflection on Romans 8:38-39
"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." — Romans 8:38-39
E. Stanley Jones powerfully reminds us that the love of Christ is the one thing the enemy cannot penetrate. He can distort doctrine, corrupt institutions, twist good works, and infiltrate even the most sacred spaces. But there is one place that remains untouched—God’s love in Christ. If the enemy were ever able to enter it, he would cease to be the enemy, for the love of Christ transforms everything it touches.
This truth is our unwavering security. The love of Christ swallowed up sin and death at the cross, and in doing so, it turned death into life. The same love that raised Christ from the dead now holds us in an unbreakable embrace. Nothing—no trial, no failure, no external force—can ever pry us from His love.
A Reflection
Imagine a fire that cannot be extinguished. It does not consume like an earthly blaze but transforms everything placed within it. A worthless scrap of metal, once exposed to its flames, emerges as pure gold. If the enemy tried to step into such a fire, he would cease to be the enemy—he would be changed. That is the nature of Christ’s love: purifying, unyielding, and beyond the reach of corruption.
In a world where the enemy seeks to infiltrate, twist, and divide, we rest in the assurance that we are anchored in a place he can never reach. The love of Christ does not waver, does not weaken, and does not depend on our efforts. It is an eternal, unshakable reality that holds us through every storm.
Confidence in Christ’s Love
Father, we stand in full confidence, knowing that Your love in Christ is unbreakable, untouchable, and eternally secure. No force in heaven or earth can pry us from the grasp of Your perfect love. We rejoice in this unshakable reality, knowing that what Christ has accomplished is complete. In every challenge, we rest in Your love, knowing that it transforms everything it touches. Thank You for the security we have in Christ, now and forever. Amen.
