Now is the Son of Man Glorified
As I fix my eyes on Jesus, I ascend ever closer to the heart of the Father.
E. Stanley Jones points us to a vital truth—when we focus on Christ, we are not diminishing God, but glorifying Him. Unlike human philosophies that allow us to mold God into an image of our liking, Jones reminds us that God has chosen to reveal Himself fully and finally through Jesus. To know Jesus is to know God, and the more we center our lives on Christ, the clearer God becomes to us—not blurred or crowded out, but glorified in brilliance. In contrast, focusing on abstract ideas of God apart from Jesus tends to lead not to divine revelation but to humanism, where God is lost in speculation and self-effort.
Jones also highlights the surprising moment of glory: when Jesus embraced the cross. This is where God was most glorified—not in strength, but in sacrificial love. The “now” of glory was not at the resurrection or the ascension, but when the path to the cross became unmistakable. God was glorified in Jesus because the cross revealed the depths of His self-giving love. True glory is not about status, but about surrender, and in the surrendered Son, the Father’s heart was fully revealed.
Journal Entry – In the Voice of the Holy Spirit
You see My Son, and you see Me. I have hidden nothing from you. My fullness dwells in Him, and when your eyes rest upon Him, they rest upon the image of My invisible essence. I made Him known to you so that you would no longer grope in the dark, trying to understand who I am through fragments of philosophy or the dust of distant religion. In Him, I am made clear. And in Him, I am glorified.
Every time you turn your gaze upon Jesus, you turn your heart toward Me. You are not walking away from Me when you walk closely with Him—you are walking directly into My embrace. For He is in Me, and I am in Him, and you are now in Us. The more clearly you know Him, the more clearly you know Me. The more deeply you yield to His indwelling presence, the more richly you experience My love.
Glory does not come where the world expects it. My glory is not seen first in dazzling miracles or loud proclamations but in the willing surrender of love. When Jesus spoke the words “Now is the Son of Man glorified,” the shadow of the cross had already begun to stretch across the room. Yet He did not shrink back, for it was in that very hour of surrender that My nature was most fully unveiled.
I am not glorified in your striving, but in your surrender. Not in your accomplishments, but in your trust. When you take up the cross—not to die for sin, but to yield your self-life—I am revealed in you, just as I was in Him. You are My child, reborn through My Spirit, called to reflect My glory not through human strength, but through a life laid down in love.
So fix your eyes on Jesus. Abide in Him, and you will find Me. Let your heart burn with the awareness of His love, and you will be aware of Mine. In glorifying Him, you are glorifying Me, for We are One, and We now dwell in you.

Prayer – My Response to You, Father
Father, I don’t need to search the stars or sift through dusty philosophies to know who You are. You have made Yourself known through Jesus. And because I know Him, I know You. I thank You that in every moment I look to Christ, I see Your heart of love, mercy, and truth. What a joy it is to realize that I am not drifting in human reasoning anymore—I’m anchored in the glory of Christ. And even more, I thank You that this glory shines brightest in surrendered love, not in grand displays. May my life be a canvas for Your grace, and may Your Son be glorified in me today, just as You were glorified in Him.
