His Resurrection Destiny

"The Son has risen—and so have we, into a new and glorious life in Him."

Oswald Chambers invites us to consider that the resurrection of Jesus didn’t just restore life to His body—it inaugurated a brand-new kind of life altogether. The risen Christ entered into a life that had never before existed: one now glorified, victorious, and shared with us. He is not simply our example of what new life might look like—He is that new life.

When we are born again, we are not just cleaned up versions of who we used to be. We are not living a life about Jesus, nor even with Jesus—we are living in Him. The very Spirit of the risen Lord indwells us, making His resurrection power the source and substance of our daily walk. The name for this resurrected life is the Holy Spirit—the Person of God working out in us what Christ accomplished on the cross.

Oswald emphasizes that our union with Christ allows us to experience His destiny: to be brought into oneness with Him, as sons and daughters of God. This isn’t just a future promise—it’s a present participation. Through the Spirit, the character of Christ is being worked into us, not by self-effort or imitation, but by divine impartation. Chambers calls this the “at-one-ment,” that beautiful wordplay capturing both the theological and relational truth: we are one with Him.

Personalized Journal Entry — In the Voice of the Holy Spirit

You have been raised with Christ, and your life is now hidden with Me in God. The power that raised Him from the dead is not an external force you strive to attain—it is the indwelling life I have already placed within you. You are not trying to become a new creation; you are one. You no longer belong to the old order of things. The resurrection didn’t just secure your future, it rewrote your present.

When you wake each day, you rise not as one trying to follow Jesus, but as one in whom He lives. This is not a life of trying to emulate holiness, but of trusting Me to express His holiness through you. Just as the Father glorified the Son, so the Son now glorifies the Father through you. Your obedience is not a burden; it is the natural outflow of the life of Christ within.

I dwell in you as the very presence of God, applying all that Jesus accomplished at the cross to the fabric of your daily existence. You are not just saved by grace; you walk by grace, breathe by grace, and love by grace. The glory you will one day fully behold is already alive in you now as a seed breaking forth in every act of faith.

Live today as one seated with Him in the heavenly realms, even as your feet walk the dust of earth. Your destiny is not only secure—it is already begun.

Prayer of Trust

Father, I don’t walk toward resurrection life—I walk in it, because I walk in Christ. Thank You for placing me in Your Son, and for placing Your Spirit in me. I trust You to live this glorious, risen life through me today. You’ve made me new, and I embrace the truth that this newness is not something I maintain, but something I express as I yield to You. I rest in the reality that Jesus’ destiny is now my daily delight: to be one with You and to reveal Your glory. Let it be so, as it already is.
