Days of Heaven Upon Earth
Seated in confidence—where Christ reigns, no shadow of accusation can remain.

There’s something unspeakably tragic in watching a once-confident believer—once radiant with joy and peace—now burdened under the oppressive weight of fear and condemnation. What happened? According to A.B. Simpson, the enemy’s strategy is not primarily to tempt us into sin but to shake loose the anchor of our trust. If he can corrode our confidence in God’s goodness and sufficiency, he knows we’ll drift into confusion and inner collapse.
Simpson’s insight reminds us of Hebrews 3:6, where we’re called the very house of God—His dwelling—if we hold tightly to the bold confidence and radiant hope we have in Christ. Our faith is not rooted in fleeting feelings or fragile performance but in the unwavering reliability of the One who lives in us.
The battleground is not external—it’s internal. The enemy doesn’t have to dethrone Christ to gain territory; he only needs to deceive us into acting like He’s no longer on the throne. And if we listen long enough to those whispers of accusation, we begin to live in the dark, shadowed realm of self-judgment rather than in the light of Christ’s completed work.
But beloved, there’s no need to retreat into that prison. Jesus reigns—and we reign with Him. Faith is the victory that overcomes the world (1 John 5:4), and when we grip the shield of faith, we extinguish the fiery arrows aimed at our identity and worth.
The devotional ends with a poetic invitation: Take your seat with Christ on the throne and bid the powers of darkness to bow beneath His rule. This isn’t poetic flourish—it’s your spiritual reality.
Personalized Journal Entry in the Holy Spirit’s Voice Through Scripture
You are My dwelling place, the very house I have chosen to make My home. I did not come to visit temporarily—I have come to abide, and you abide in Me. Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in Me, for I have given you My peace, not as the world gives. I have not left you as an orphan but have seated you with Christ in the heavenly realms, far above every power that seeks to accuse you.
The enemy’s voice is persistent, but it is not true. He masquerades as light, but his accusations carry no weight in My court. There is now no condemnation for you because you are in Christ Jesus. I have silenced the accuser. Who can bring a charge against you? I am the One who justifies.
You walk by faith, not by sight. So do not measure your place in My heart by your perception of your performance. I have loved you with an everlasting love. I am the Faithful One who holds your life together when everything else feels shaky. Your confidence is not misplaced when it rests in Me.
I am your shield and your very great reward. The hope you boast in is not fragile—it is anchored within the veil, secure and steadfast, tied to Me. Do not cast it away. Instead, take your place at My side and declare My reign over every doubt, every lie, every fear. The throne is not empty—it is occupied. And so is your heart.

Prayer
Lord, I rest in the unshakable truth that You are faithful as the Son over God’s house—and I am Your house. You have not asked me to build confidence in myself but to rest in the confidence of Your presence within me. You are not far away or looking on from a distance; You are here, reigning from within, and I rejoice that I don’t have to manufacture faith—I simply get to hold fast to the faith You’ve given me.
I’m not afraid of the enemy’s tactics. He’s lost the power to define me. You’ve already spoken the final word over me—“Mine.” And so, I take my seat with You today, in victory, in peace, and in hope. Amen.
