Confident in His Perfect Work

Inspired by insights from Abide Above

"That ye may know what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints."
Ephesians 1:18

There is a quiet but powerful confidence in understanding God's eternal purposes for His people. This knowledge doesn't come simply from study but from walking with Christ and growing in Him. It is through this personal growth that head-knowledge becomes heart-knowledge, transforming the way we view ourselves and others.

Imagine a master sculptor standing before a block of marble. To the untrained eye, it looks like nothing more than a cold, lifeless stone. But the sculptor sees something more—a beautiful, finished masterpiece waiting to be revealed. Every strike of the chisel is intentional, shaping the stone into what it was always meant to be.

In much the same way, God sees beyond our present state. He doesn’t see us as we are but as we will be in Christ—complete, radiant, and reflecting the glory of His grace. This truth changes how we relate to others. Instead of focusing on imperfections or setbacks, we view others through the lens of God’s finished work. Patience and forgiveness flow naturally when we trust that God is faithfully shaping His masterpiece in them, just as He is in us.

This confidence also reshapes our prayers. We no longer plead for small improvements or temporary relief; we stand firm in the truth that God is already working toward complete victory in our lives and in the lives of those around us. We don’t tiptoe around the truth in fear—we boldly declare the fullness of God’s promises, trusting that His Word will accomplish what He intends.

"Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ."
Philippians 1:6

A Prayer of Confidence in God’s Work

Father,
I rejoice in the certainty that You are completing the good work You began in me and in those You have called. You are the Master Craftsman, shaping each of us into the image of Christ. I trust in the fullness of Your promises and the glory of Your finished work. May I walk in this confidence, viewing others not by their present struggles but by the beauty of what You are bringing to completion. Thank You for the rich inheritance I have in Christ, and for the joy of knowing that Your purposes will not fail. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Final Thought

God’s work in us and in others is not partial or uncertain—it is a masterpiece in progress. Let us confidently walk in the joy of His finished work, trusting Him with every stroke of the chisel.
