Alive With His Life

Even the landscape comes alive when light rises from within.

Scripture Focus: Galatians 2:20

E. Stanley Jones takes us deep into the heart of what it means to be in Christ—not as a distant ideal, but as a lived reality. He beautifully highlights the two sides of Galatians 2:20: first, the death of the old self through identification with Christ’s crucifixion, and then the life of Christ now expressed through us. This is not poetic imagery. It’s a real transaction—my old life is no more; now Jesus is my very life.

Jones describes a glorious exchange: I voluntarily identify with Christ’s death, and in return, He imparts His resurrection life. That life animates not only my spirit but even my mind, emotions, and will. Everything within me becomes vibrant with His vitality. This isn’t a someday reality for heaven—it’s for now, in the flesh. The body doesn’t get sidelined; it’s included in this resurrection glory. In Christ, even our physical being becomes whole, purposeful, and integrated, as the Word becomes flesh again—this time in us.

The devotional calls us to embrace this exchanged life fully. We’re not to merely imitate Jesus from a distance but to let His life rise and move through us, right here, right now.

Personalized Journal Entry in the Holy Spirit’s Voice Through Scripture

I have placed you into My Son, and in Him, you have been crucified. The person you once were—bound by fear, pride, and striving—was buried with Christ. That life is gone. You are not patching up the old; you are now entirely new. The life you now live is Mine to express through you.

I live in you—not beside you, not above you—I dwell in your very spirit. I animate your thoughts with truth, your emotions with love, your will with divine resolve. This resurrection life is not held back until heaven; it pulses through your body, your breath, your daily steps. You live in the flesh, yes—but that flesh is no longer a battleground for defeat. It is now a temple vibrant with My presence.

As you move, I move. As you speak, I speak. As you yield, I reveal My glory. Your mind is not empty—it is filled with renewal. Your emotions are not unstable—they are kindled by My love. Your will is not alone—it is joined to Mine. I do not merely direct you from afar; I express Myself through your very being.

Let go of the lie that you are still the old you. You have been raised. You are alive because I am alive in you. The resurrection was not just an event—it is now your ongoing experience.

Prayer of Confident Trust

Father, I rejoice in the certainty that I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live. Christ lives in me, and this life—this vibrant, Spirit-filled, resurrection-powered life—is unfolding right now. Thank You that my flesh is not a hindrance but a vessel for Your glory. Thank You that I am no longer bound by the patterns of the old man, for I am now joined to the One who conquered death.

Every breath I take is animated by You. Every step I walk is held in Your resurrection life. And every moment is an invitation to let Jesus be seen in me—not as an idea, but as real life made flesh. I trust You fully to express Your Son through me today.

Amen.
