Risen Fare: Feeding on the Fullness of Christ
No longer living on survival food—Christ invites us to feast on His fullness.
Based on the March 20th devotional from Abide Above
The journey of Israel from the wilderness to Canaan illustrates a spiritual progression in the believer’s life. While wandering, the Israelites survived on manna—a provision from God that sustained them but did not bring them into the fullness of the land’s abundance. But once they entered Canaan, they ate from the "old corn of the land," representing a deeper, more mature provision directly from God.
This reflects the difference between a believer who remains in spiritual infancy—feeding only on basic truths of the faith—and one who steps into the fullness of life in Christ. The milk of the Word nourishes, but the mature believer craves the solid food of deeper fellowship with the risen Christ. The manna sustained them, but the old corn caused them to flourish.
Too often, Christians live as though they are still in the wilderness, subsisting on just enough to get by rather than embracing the riches of their inheritance in Christ. Positional truth—understanding where we already are in Christ and what He has already provided—must come first. When we grasp that we have been brought into the heavenly places in Christ and given all things pertaining to life and godliness, our experience shifts from mere survival to thriving in His abundance.
As Israel was brought into the land before they were called to warfare and separation, so too are we first placed in Christ, seated with Him, and then called to walk in the reality of that truth. The Spirit does not call us to fight for our position in Christ, but to stand firm in the position already secured for us.
Personalized Journal Entry — The Holy Spirit’s Voice Through Scripture
You were never meant to live on scraps, merely surviving on what keeps you afloat. I have called you into fullness, into abundance, into the life of Christ Himself. When you were in the wilderness of sin, I sustained you. Even when you were unaware of My nearness, I upheld you. But now, I have brought you into the land of promise—into Christ, where all the riches of grace are yours. You are not to live on survival food when I have set a banquet before you.
The manna was enough for the wilderness, but you are no longer wandering. You have been raised with Christ, seated in heavenly places, no longer bound to the mindset of lack. All things that pertain to life and godliness have already been given to you. I do not ask you to strive to attain; I invite you to partake. Feast on the riches of My Son—His sufficiency, His wisdom, His power, His rest.
You have been brought in, not by your worthiness, but by My doing. Before you were called to walk, before you were called to fight, before you were called to serve, I placed you securely in My Son. Stand in this reality. Do not return to the wilderness mindset, fearing that you must earn what has already been given. Eat the old corn of the land. Be nourished by the fullness of Christ.

Prayer of Trust
Father, I acknowledge that You have already brought me into the fullness of Christ. You have seated me in heavenly places, given me everything I need, and invited me to feast on the abundance of Your grace. I refuse to live as though I lack, as though I am still in the wilderness. I rest in the finished work of Christ, receiving all that He is in me. Thank You for calling me to partake, not strive; to feast, not merely survive. I yield to Your Spirit, who leads me deeper into this truth. Amen.
